Why Hire A Remote Dosimetrist?

While the number of cancer patients increases and the demand for professional dosimetrists remains high, it’s not always feasible for smaller, rural centers to have full-time dosimetrists on the staff. If the patient demand isn’t enough for a small town, hiring a remote worker makes more sense.

What People Have Said About Us

Richard K, CMD (Auburn, WA)

Working for a busy radiation oncology department, it became quite difficult to manage the workload when a staff member decided to move onto a new venture. We needed help with the spikes we had in planning but really didn't need someone full time.

Monique W, CMD (Tacoma, WA)

Nathan is an honest and dependable Dosimetrist. He filled in for our Varian platform clinic when we were overwhelmed by the high volume of patients. Nathan is pleasant to work with and easily accommodated the way our clinic provides dosimetry to our community.

Monique W, CMD (Tacoma, WA)

Janine M, RTT, Lead Therapist (Spokane, WA)

Nathan is very professional and a proficient medical dosimetrist. Nathan is very easy to work with. I would definitely use his expertise again! Thank you Nathan!

We generally operate a "per-plan" basis charge model; this eliminates the need for a monthly retainer and/or a minimum number of plans per month. There is no minimum monthly charge. This fits well with the accounts payable department as if your clinic is in a period of low patient throughput, you only pay for what plans get completed. Having said that, we have also staffed clinics that have no permanent dosimetrists. If this is your situation, please reach out such that we can discuss this as well as it’s quite manageable.
Unlike large remote dosimetry companies which assign a large group of dosimetrists to one clinic, we generally provide two dosimetrists per clinic. Physicians have often expressed disappointment with an assigned large group of dosimetrists and they much prefer dealing with a small group. The small group helps maintain consistency within your department and allows your radiation oncologists to only work with two dosimetrists. Having two assigned dosimetrists also allows continuity of care if one of them are unavailable. Our dosimetrists are always reachable by means such as text, call, or Teams.
If your department doesn't have permanent staff to handle this, then our dosimetrists always have their laptops handy for those types of situations. It's not really a big issue for coverage when these situations arise.
We pride ourselves in having a turnaround of less than 2 days. More often than not, the plan is ready for viewing the next morning (assuming that all target and OAR goals are clear and concise).
Our fee is all inclusive. This includes everything from importing images from CT sim, diagnostic scan fusions, plan creation, and preparation for treatment.
Please reach out and we'd be more than happy to provide a proposal of services for your institution and to discuss any further questions that you may have.
Generally, we prefer to sign a minimum two year commitment. Keep in mind that if you/re not busy during any period of time, there is no need to pay for services not rendered for that period of time.
All of our dosimetrists are CMD credentialed and have a minimum of 10 years experience working in dosimetry. We strive to hit the ground running which is why we value experienced dosimetrists. We are so confident that you will appreciate and value our dosimetrists and services that we will create radiation plans for FREE for the first month from the date of the signed contract (maximum 2 free plans per week). In essence, it's a “try before you buy” structure with no strings attached! We are also more than happy to provide references from other clients so that you may hear their experiences with us.
